The line into the Sorrells and Williams eras
The assistant record places Kirk Williams on staff from 1983–1992, Wayne Eidson from 1986–1995, Robert Estes beginning in 1993, and Steve Sorrells as an assistant from 1984–1987 before he became head coach in 1988. That makes the late-1980s and early-1990s rebuild a staff-history story as much as a win-loss story.
