A first for Greenbrier
Toby Lynch won the 2018 Class A-AA 220-pound state championship. Tennessee’s Senate Joint Resolution 738 records a 33–0 season and identifies his title as the first individual wrestling state championship in Greenbrier High School history.
He reached the final with three pins, then defeated Jacob Miller of Nolensville 6–4. The resolution also records third-place finishes at the two previous state tournaments and recognizes coach Josh Reynolds and the Bobcat team.
A college connection
Campbellsville’s 2018–19 roster lists Lynch as a freshman at 197 pounds. The university says he did not compete in a varsity event that season. The roster documents his next program; his unbeaten championship season belongs to Greenbrier.
