Greenbrier football record

Pearson returns and a winless start breaks

4–7 school record

Greenbrier lost its first four by a combined 34–100. Consecutive shutouts of East Robertson and Jo Byrns supplied the first wins of Pearson’s return.

Mt. Juliet and Brentwood Academy stopped that run. Greenbrier then beat Ashland City 30–6 and Waverly 13–6 before Portland won the finale.

The middle six games produced a 4–2 record. Burt Castleman appears in the honors register as All-Mid-State and All-State honorable mention after being All-Conference in 1973.
