The beginning · 2016–17

The call that
sparked it all.

“Not to live in the past, but in an attempt to preserve for future generations.”

A Friday-night conversation and a memorable call from Greenbrier's 2003 playoff run started the original Brier Patch project. The recovered 2016–17 collection includes game previews, recaps, scripts, photographs and historical research.

The Brier Patch

Editorial Standards.

01

Official information first

Current schedules, rosters, results, and announcements begin with Greenbrier schools, coaches, teams, and approved school communications.

02

One game page

A game should connect its preview, official result, statistics, recap, broadcast, photographs, and corrections instead of scattering them across unrelated posts.

03

History with provenance

Old film, scans, broadcasts, newspapers, yearbooks, and community submissions are identified by source and checked before a claim becomes part of the record.

04

Corrections stay visible

Names, dates, scores, and records matter. When better evidence changes the record, The Brier Patch corrects it instead of quietly preserving the error.
