Eight straight and another Blanket Bowl
Bellevue won the opener. Greenbrier beat Joelton, then lost 8–6 to White House, leaving the Bobcats 1–2 and 28–42.
Greenbrier did not lose again. The eight-game closing run included 52 points against Dover, shutouts of East Robertson and Gordonsville, and a 42–6 win over Ashland City.
The run ended with a 22–6 Blanket Bowl victory over Chapel Hill—identified in the combined index as Forrest of Chapel Hill—at Springfield. The closing eight totaled 257–66.

The surviving records do not fully use the same lines
Every final agrees. The school sheet calls the 42–6 opponent Ashland City; the outside schedule says Cheatham County. Both place the 22–6 Blanket Bowl win at Springfield.

The surviving honors register has no 1972 entry. The Blanket Bowl championship remains established by the team records.
The captain list names Ivan Bell and Michael Johnson.

The combined 1969–75 record totals 38–35, 1,290–1,293 and twelve shutout wins. It moves from a conference runner-up through two Blanket Bowl titles and into Pearson’s return.
