The Bobcats get their name
In May, the Student Council offered possible emblems and the student body selected Bobcat. The school newspaper hoped the emblem would become as familiar as Greenbrier’s green and white. The local history records that this vote is when Greenbrier teams became the Bobcats.
The fall results were difficult. Greenbrier lost the first seven listed games before edging Barren Plains 13–12, then closed with losses to Cedar Hill and Cross Plains. entries ended with Greenbrier in single digits, including three scoreless games.
The 83–240 scoring line averages 8.3 points for and 24.0 against. The nine losses totaled 70–228; the one-point Barren Plains win remains the season’s lone football victory and its closest finish.
