Surviving football record

Four wins after perfection

4–1

The first entries form a compact run of control. Greenbrier beat Orlinda twice, 6–0 and 6–2, then beat Bell twice, 14–0 and 30–12. Across those wins the team scored 56 points, allowed 14 and posted three shutouts.

Rogersville, Alabama, broke the run with a 37–6 result in the fifth and final listed game. That single loss supplied 37 of the 51 points Greenbrier allowed in the five recorded games.

The 4–file did not repeat 1938’s perfection, but it extended the strongest two-year stretch yet visible in the early record: ten wins in eleven listed games across 1938–39.

Identity, championship and wartime change

The 1939–45 chapter links the post-perfect-season run, the student vote that created the Bobcat identity, the 1941 county title and the wartime contraction without forcing missing scores into the story.
