The first perfect season

6–0

The 1938 list is the first full perfect football season documented in Greenbrier’s record: six games and six wins. The Bobcats averaged 38.0 points, allowed 3.3 and outscored the listed schedule by 208.

Adams appears twice, Greenbrier winning 35–7 and 46–0. Clarksville, a 12–6 winner in the 1937 schedule, is shut out 42–0. East Nashville is beaten 62–0, while Orlinda falls 25–13 and 18–0.

Four shutouts and no opponent above 13 points define the arithmetic. The deeper importance is continuity: Joe Henry Carter’s name, the early neighborhood opponents and the fragmentary 1930s pages all lead here without pretending the missing years are known.
