A year-round athlete
Susan played basketball, volleyball and softball before graduating in 1980. Her Hall biography places her on Greenbrier’s inaugural volleyball team and the county-champion 1978 softball team, whose record it gives as 27–4.
Recognition on the basketball floor
The Hall records Shelbyville Invitational MVP honors during her junior basketball year. For her senior season, it lists Vol State Conference MVP, All-Region and second-team All-State Class AA recognition, alongside district-tournament and conference honors.
She also earned district and tournament honors in volleyball. TSSAA independently confirms that Greenbrier made its first listed state volleyball appearance in fall 1979, during the school year in which Susan was a senior.
The team around her
Susan appears in the Hall’s named photograph of the 1979–80 basketball team. The team chapter connects those names and keeps the season’s disputed postseason description separate from its documented Hall recognition.
