The Bobcats opened 3–0 by a reconstructed combined margin of 114–10. The season later swung through four one-score losses or near-one-score losses, including Springfield 14–12, Waverly 20–17, White House 48–42 and Portland 14–7.
Greenbrier reached November at 5–5 and drew Waverly again. TSSAA’s bracket fixes the playoff rematch at Nov. 11, 1994; Waverly won 20–7.

Greenbrier opened 3–0, survived an eight-overtime rivalry game, returned to the playoffs after seventeen years and produced its first Mr. Football winner.
Greenbrier opened 3–0 and outscored Montgomery Central, Macon County and Hickman County 114–10. The contemporary Hickman report supports 31–3 over the school list’s 31–7.
Two same-day reports give Greenbrier’s DeKalb County win as 43–28 and detail Derrick Lucas’ six touchdown runs. That contemporary scoring record corrects the school list’s 43–26.
TSSAA records the Nov. 11 first-round loss to Waverly, the first Greenbrier playoff appearance since 1977. Its award history names Lucas the 1994 Class 3A Mr. Football Back of the Year.
