Surviving football record

No team — WWII

No team

The master football record gives 1945 the same explicit label as 1944: “No Team- WWII.” It is therefore presented differently from an empty or incomplete season record.

The statement is football-specific. The local school history documents other athletic and student activity during the period, but no 1945 football opponent, score or result is claimed here.

The next page changes the story. Greenbrier football returned in 1946, and the surviving photograph of Jimmy Suter’s first team gives the restart a visible group of players and coaches.

No football team listed.

The master record explicitly says “No Team- WWII.”

Reading the record: This is the final no-team year in the master list. Continue to 1946 for the documented return.

Identity, championship and wartime change

The 1939–45 chapter links the post-perfect-season run, the student vote that created the Bobcat identity, the 1941 county title and the wartime contraction without forcing missing scores into the story.
