No team — WWII

No team

Unlike the blank headings elsewhere in the early record, 1944 is not merely missing scores. The master list makes an affirmative, football-specific statement: “No Team- WWII.” This page uses that wording and limits the claim to football.

Greenbrier school life did not disappear. The Village Green continues to document students, basketball and home-front activity during the war years. None of that should be used to manufacture a football schedule.

The pause continued through 1945. Football’s next listed season is 1946, when the program returned under Jimmy Suter.

No football team listed.

The master record explicitly says “No Team- WWII.”

Reading the record: No games are listed because the source says no football team, not because the schedule is simply unrecovered.

Identity, championship and wartime change

The 1939–45 chapter links the post-perfect-season run, the student vote that created the Bobcat identity, the 1941 county title and the wartime contraction without forcing missing scores into the story.
