The scrapbook adds the human detail behind the 8-3 playoff season. At the postseason banquet, Don Fuquay was voted Most Valuable Offensive Player, while Dwayne Bagwell and Darrell Hodges shared Defensive MVP honors. The same banquet story says tackle Steve Sorrells had signed a football grant-in-aid with Austin Peay.
A separate All-Midstate clipping preserved beside the banquet material lists Darryl Hajdu as First Team All-Class AA, Steve Sorrells as Second Team and Don Fuqua as Third Team.
