Co-captain, team MVP, All-State and All-Mid-State
Clark’s Hall profile identifies him as a fullback and defensive end, a senior co-captain and Greenbrier’s team MVP. It says he became the school’s first football player selected to the UPI All-State team across all classifications and the first athlete to earn All-Mid-State football and basketball recognition in the same year.
Four-year starting tight end
Clark accepted a full scholarship to MTSU, started four years at tight end and earned All-Ohio Valley Conference recognition as a senior on an unbeaten OVC championship team.
Portland win, Industrial Bowl return
After losses to Beech and Goodpasture, Greenbrier edged Portland 14–13. Cookeville won the Industrial Bowl 20–6 at Lafayette, leaving the Bobcats 8–3 and Clark at the center of one of the program’s strongest early-1980s teams.
