Ten-and-Oh again
The Bobcats began with four straight shutouts, outscoring Jo Byrns, St. Andrews, Mt. Juliet and White House 126–0. Charlotte became the first opponent to score, but Greenbrier won 27–14.
Nashville Howard was shut out 46–0 before Harrison-Chilhowee and Ashland City scored 19 combined. Greenbrier closed with shutouts of East Robertson and Hendersonville; the 6–0 finale was the narrowest win.
The 10–0, 281–33 line completed back-to-back perfect seasons. Together 1960–61 went 19–0, scored 651, allowed 47 and posted 14 shutouts. The Hall of Fame inducted the two teams together in 2007.

A championship inside a growing town
The Village Green records a contemporary town account saying both Greenbrier schools were “bulging with students,” county bonds had been issued for expansion, and the football team had won the 1961 Red River Conference championship. The same account says the local ice-cream parlor was jammed with teenagers after ball games.
One season inside a seven-year run
The seven Greenbrier recorded seasons under Howse total 52–8, 1,527–343 and 28 shutout wins. The separate coaching record prints 52–9; the source difference remains open rather than being forced into one number.
