1959–1962 · BLUE HOWSE ERA

Twenty-four documented wins in a row

The surviving Greenbrier schedules show the streak beginning after the Oct. 23, 1959 loss at Ashland City. Greenbrier then won the final two documented games of 1959, all nine games in 1960, all ten in 1961 and the first three games of 1962 before Charlotte won 18–6.

1959 · the launch

The run begins with a 48–20 Greenbrier-record win at East Robertson and the 7–0 Strawberry Bowl win over Watertown. An independent historical record lists the East Robertson final as 48–0; VOTC leaves the Greenbrier value public pending a contemporary source and preserves the conflict separately.

1959 SEASON

1960 · 9–0

Red River Valley Conference champions. Greenbrier scored 370 points and allowed 14. The Hall of Fame team page says the 1960 squad allowed only two touchdowns all season and preserves a full roster.

1960 SEASON

1961 · 10–0

Another Red River Valley title and another perfect season. Greenbrier scored 281 and allowed 33 while completing a 19–0 two-season run.

1961 SEASON

1962 · the ending

Greenbrier opened 3–0 before Charlotte's 18–6 win ended the streak. The Bobcats still finished 6–1 in Blue Howse's final season as head coach.

1962 SEASON

Hall of Fame cross-check

The Hall of Fame's 1960–61 team profile calls this a 24-game winning streak and identifies the two undefeated teams as Hall of Fame inductees. Its narrative says the streak began with the last three games of 1959; the surviving VOTC schedule currently shows only two documented wins after the final 1959 loss. The site preserves both facts instead of inventing a missing game.

There is also a 1960 opener discrepancy: the Hall page prints Greenbrier 40–7 over Jo Byrns, while the Greenbrier records says 46–7. The Hall's own stated two-season aggregate (651 points) matches the 46–7 value. VOTC therefore retains 46–7 pending contemporary confirmation.
