SEASON IN CONTEXT

Six straight wins and a November victory.

Greenbrier recovered from an opening-night loss by winning six consecutive games. The run included a two-overtime win at Creek Wood, one-score district wins over Sycamore and White House, and a Homecoming victory over Macon County that moved the Bobcats to 6–1.

Three losses closed the regular season, with the Westmoreland game decided by one point in overtime. Greenbrier still finished 6–4 in the regular season and 3–2 in District 9-AA. HSFHA lists the Bobcats second in the district standings, tied with White House at 3–2; the five district games produced a 118–110 scoring edge.

The Bobcats beat Chester County 12–7 for their first playoff win since 2007 before an 11–3 Lexington team ended the season in the Class 4A second round. Greenbrier finished 7–5 and scored 222 points while allowing 276.
