Three Wins, Then a Grind

A three-game September surge was followed by five straight losses to close the season.

Greenbrier started 0–2, then found its best stretch of the season with consecutive wins over DeKalb County, Marshall County and Cheatham County.

The middle win was one of the year’s clearest rushing snapshots: Jody Dorris recorded 115 yards against Marshall County while Lance Roach added 141. Dorris later posted 174 against Cheatham County.

The season turned after that 3–2 start. Station Camp began a five-game losing streak that left the Bobcats 3–7 and outside the playoffs for the first time since 1993.

A 2014 Main Street retrospective revisited Greenbrier’s 2006 opener against Pope John Paul II and Golden Tate. Its account says Tate scored three rushing touchdowns before returning Greenbrier’s late onside-kick attempt for the final score in a 28–14 result.
