Surviving football record

From 0–3 to a winning finish

3–4–1

The first entries were losses to Smyrna, Upperman at Baxter and Goodlettsville. Greenbrier was outscored 112–7 in that opening run, including a 59–7 Goodlettsville result.

The remaining entries changed the direction of the season. Greenbrier beat White House 13–0, tied Coopertown 13–13, lost to Charlotte, then closed with wins over Jo Byrns and East Robertson. That 3–1–1 finish produced a 93–58 scoring edge.

The last two wins totaled 60–12, capped by a 40–0 East Robertson shutout. The comeback did not erase the 3–4–1 final record, but it gave Jimmy Suter’s last season a clear recovery arc.

Continue the postwar story

From the 1946 return to the 1955 title

This season sits inside a ten-year climb that began after the wartime pause, crossed a new campus and two coaching transitions, and finished with a perfect conference championship.
