A score—and a team in the frame
Greenbrier’s only recovered 1935 score is a 35–0 loss to David Lipscomb. It is the first documented meeting in a series that later extends through 2014.
The Village Green includes a Greenbrier High football photograph captioned 1935–1936. The caption identifies Thomas Weaver, Woodrow Justice, Willard Parker, Hugh Edward Fisher and Bill Williams. It does not say that all five appeared against Lipscomb, so the photograph is presented as team-era evidence rather than a game lineup.
The image matters because it restores something the score line cannot: a playing scene, uniform numbers and named people from the same school-year window. The game’s date, site, lineup and scoring sequence remain unknown.
