Pearson’s first Greenbrier run produced three winning seasons. The 1966 team opened 5–1, the 1967 team’s six wins totaled 136–13, and the 1968 team began 7–0 before reaching the Crockett Bowl.
Conference champions, bowl runners-up
Greenbrier’s school sheet labels the team Red River Valley Conference champion and records Centerville 19, Greenbrier 6 in the Crockett Bowl. The independent schedule identifies the opponent as Hickman County and the site as Lawrenceburg.
The title year and bowl outcome conflict
Pearson’s Hall profile places the Red River Valley title in 1967 and describes the 1968 Crockett Bowl as a win. Greenbrier’s score list labels 1968 the conference champion and records the bowl as a 19–6 loss. The site follows the score sheet for team results while preserving the Hall wording as a conflict.
Two stints, two summaries
The local coaching register’s two Pearson stints add to 47–35–1. The Hall profile gives an overall 52–29. No game-level change presently reconciles those totals, so both remain labeled rather than blended.
Pearson returned from 1974 through 1978, leading the 1976 Industrial Bowl champions and Greenbrier’s first TSSAA playoff team in 1977.
