Good Evening Bobcat Country and WELCOME HOME! We are perched high atop The Brier Patch tonight where it is HOMECOMING 2020 for Greenbrier High School.

The welcome home came with momentum. Before introducing Cheatham County, Jim’s opening revisited the previous week’s 21–0 win at Montgomery Central—an evening built from special teams, timely offense and a defense that kept the scoreboard clean.

LAST WEEK on the hill in Cunningham, TN it was ALLL GAS for the Greenbrier Bobcats.

The names behind the shutout

D.J. Jackson blocked the punt. Stoney Smith supplied the scoop and score. Braxton Laney kept the ball for another touchdown before halftime. Kelby Steele broke loose in the fourth quarter to finish the scoring.

The script also makes time for work away from the ball: receiving contributions and key blocks from Silas Page and Derek Taylor. Jim’s Taylor note records 27 receiving yards and three solo tackles, alongside the player-of-the-week recognition mentioned in the draft.

right when we wanted a nice, slow drive to close it out, the speedy Senior Kelby Steele broke off a 65 yarder for the third and final score of the night.

The 65-yard description agrees with the Greenbrier-side account; the opponent-side report calls the run 60 yards. The Montgomery Central game page keeps that distance difference visible. Neither figure is a full-game rushing total.

Momentum meets Homecoming

With three wins on the season and two in the region, the opening turns toward the playoff race. The tone is hopeful, but the preview still warns against taking a winless Cheatham County team lightly. A new coaching staff and a quarterback-involved offense give the booth a football discussion to have before the ceremony begins.

The script’s old series estimate is not used here as a current rivalry record. This entry preserves the atmosphere and named plays of the 2020 opening; the maintained game and season pages carry the results.

Homecoming supplied another shutout. Greenbrier won 40–0, following the Montgomery Central win with a second straight clean sheet. The surviving pregame script captures the moment just before that next step.
