Good Evening Bobcat Country and WELCOME HOME! We are perched high atop The Brier Patch tonight where it is SENIOR NIGHT for Greenbrier High School.

Senior Night came at the home opener in 2020. The recovered Creek Wood script puts that celebration beside the uncertainty of the season: two weeks had passed since Greenbrier’s opening win, and the familiar setting at Cuniff and Parker finally had football again.

The defense got the season moving

Jim’s recap of the 21–9 win at Sycamore centers on the parts of a game that can change its direction before an offense finds its rhythm.

Special Teams and Defense were the story of the night for The Bobcats: blocked field goals, blocked punts, coffin corner punting and the turnover differential made all the difference as The Cats cruised to a 21-9 win in Pleasant View.

Izik Rector’s rushing touchdown and blocked-punt return were central to that opening win. The notebook credits him with 70 rushing yards and records 11 tackles for loss and three sacks for the defense. These are the broadcast’s reported figures; they do not turn the surviving account into a complete box score.

The source comparison also matters. This draft names Braxton Laney as the passer on the Silas Page touchdown, while the contemporary account preserved on the Sycamore game page credits Stoney Smith. The draft places the first first down after six possessions; that account says the fifth. Both forms remain recorded, with the game page retaining its attributed account.

A homecoming to the routine

Two weeks ago, might as well have been two months ago at this point in the season.

The next lines hope the time away has helped the Bobcats heal and prepare. Jim then sets up the Senior Night ceremony and the familiar weather handoff to Greenbrier alumnus Tom Sorrells in Orlando.

The lights are on, the grass is green, The Shield is trimmed in White. Its football time in Greenbrier again, Fight Bobcats Fight!

Greenbrier honored 19 seniors that night. Creek Wood won 13–0, with two empty red-zone trips weighing heavily in the result. The permanent game record follows the action beyond this pregame welcome.
