A player on the perfect 1957 team
The Greenbrier Athletic Hall of Fame says Hall played football and basketball and captained both as a senior in 1958. At right end, he led the football team in scoring in both his junior and senior seasons. The junior year was Greenbrier’s 8–0 Lower Cumberland Valley championship.
Baseball player, coach and athletic director
The Hall profile follows Hall to MTSU, where he earned All-Ohio Valley Conference and team-MVP recognition in baseball, then into the Boston Red Sox organization for five minor-league seasons. He later coached in Tullahoma and at Columbia State, where he also became athletic director.
The profile credits the Columbia State baseball program under Hall and Jim Palmer with a 570–142 record across eighteen years, notes three District VII JUCO Coach of the Year awards and records the naming of Dave Hall Field in 1996.
