Breakaway runner, late interception and the Portland touchdown
Reed’s 67-yard touchdown helped beat Macon County in 1988. That story credits 111 rushing yards while Greenbrier’s separate rushing register says 109. Later in the season he made the key interception that protected the Houston County shutout.
In 1989 he ran 17 times for 69 yards in the opener and the school record credits 121 yards against Houston County. His 26-yard touchdown catch from Brett Pyles, paired with Todd Williamson’s kicks, produced all ten points in the closing win at Portland. Reed made the 1989 All-District and All-Robertson County teams.
