GAME STORY / CONTEXT

2005 vs. Cheatham Co.

Cheatham County stopped Greenbrier’s three-game winning streak with a 28–3 win on the Cubs’ Homecoming night. Greenbrier led 3–0 after a first-quarter field goal, but the Cubs took control before halftime and never gave it back.

The contemporary report credits Cheatham with holding Greenbrier to 82 total yards and sacking the Bobcat quarterback four times. Justin Pigg led Greenbrier’s rushing with 49 yards on nine carries, while Dale Krisle was credited with 18 tackles. What followed made the loss the hinge of the season: Greenbrier did not allow another point for three games.
