Greenbrier 26, Portland 16
From a 1927 loss to a recorded 1929 win
The surviving score record credits Greenbrier with a 26–16 victory over Portland. It is the only known Greenbrier win in the current file and accounts for all 26 points scored and 16 allowed in that season’s two scored entries; the other is a 0–0 Ashland City tie.
This is the earliest Greenbrier victory currently listed in the Portland series. The earlier 1927 meeting, reported under the Sumner High name, ended in a 68–0 loss. The surviving results show a different outcome two years later, but they do not document how the teams changed between those games.
No 1929 game date, venue, scorer list or newspaper recap is attached here. The ten-point margin comes from the final score; a quarter-by-quarter account cannot yet be recovered from the available material.
