The corrected coaches’ All-Region post preserved Greenbrier at the top of the final Region 4-3A standings after the White House breakthrough.
Read the exact CoachT post →October 28, 2005 was Senior Night, the Region 4-3A title game and a regional cable broadcast. The newspaper preview said Greenbrier’s focus was the title, not the streak. By the end of the night, the Bobcats had both.
Before kickoff
The game
White House struck first with a field goal. Kyle Herndon answered on a bootleg. Ricky Ladd’s 73-yard touchdown restored the Blue Devil lead, but Greenbrier immediately flipped the field on the kickoff and Justin Pigg finished the answer for a 14–10 halftime lead.
Michael Seay’s interception helped preserve the advantage before halftime. Late, Pigg drove the ball to the 1 and Herndon’s sneak made it 20–10. Greenbrier recovered the ensuing kickoff fumble and finished the night as Region 4-3A champion.

2005 feature sources are kept separate by role: newspaper/scrapbook scans for game reporting, preserved film for the game itself, and CoachT for contemporary community discussion or clearly labeled later memory.
The night kept going in print
The scrapbook did not treat Oct. 28 as a single clipping. These additional pages preserve the celebration, the playoff consequence and the way the win was framed across the following week.
