2001–2002

The first two seasons of the new century: a difficult return to November in 2001 followed by the first home playoff game and first TSSAA playoff victory in 2002.

← Football History

The Breakthrough Begins

Kirk Williams’s early rebuild broke through in 2002: eight wins, a region runner-up finish, the first home TSSAA playoff game and Greenbrier’s first postseason victory.

TWO-ROOM FEATURE

2001 is the prologue. 2002 is the breakthrough.

The complete 2001 regular season survives on film. One year later, Greenbrier turns that November habit into the first TSSAA playoff victory in program history.
