Football and basketball across four school years
The Hall identifies Cannady as a 1966 graduate who participated in football and basketball from 1962 through 1966. It says he captained a football team that went 9–1.
Greenbrier’s 1965 regular-season rows are exactly 9–1 before the Athletic Bowl, making that the clearest numerical match. The full season is 9–2, and the captain register lists William Pitt, Butch Williams and Kim Parker rather than Cannady for 1965. The site therefore preserves the Hall claim without assigning it to a specific year.
A standing rebounding record and Marine service
The Hall credits Cannady with a 15-rebound basketball average, captaincy and team-MVP recognition. It also records his entry into the U.S. Marine Corps after graduation and service in Vietnam.
