Two sports in Greenbrier
Johnny Warren played basketball and golf during his 1990–94 Greenbrier years. His Hall biography remembers a 40-point basketball game as a freshman and senior-year captaincy. The opponent and date of the 40-point game have not been established.
In golf, the Hall credits him with three state-tournament qualifications after his freshman year, District Golfer of the Year in 1993, and an unbeaten senior run through regional play. Original tournament sheets remain the next step for checking individual finishes.
The Middle Tennessee connection is in print
The Hall describes Johnny joining Middle Tennessee’s golf team as a walk-on and making its five-player travel squad. Middle Tennessee’s 2025 men’s golf record book independently lists Johnny Warren among its lettermen for 1997.
The letter list confirms a college recognition year. It does not supply his individual rounds, tournament starts or the history of walk-on selections.
A legacy carried through scholarships
The Hall records Johnny’s death in April 1997 and the establishment of the Johnny Warren Foundation to support academic scholarships for future Greenbrier students. This is a historical account; current scholarship availability has not been verified.
