Three sports, with baseball at the center
A 1949 Greenbrier graduate, Joe Suter played football and basketball and earned basketball All-Tournament recognition. His Hall biography remembers an unbeaten high-school pitcher weighing 135 pounds.
His baseball path also included Nashville Sporting Goods and Coca-Cola in the Larry Gilbert League. The Hall reports 68 wins, eight losses and two no-hitters overall; the seasons and competitions covered by that total remain unconfirmed.

Joe joins the championship run
The Village Green names Joe among the newcomers to the 1946–47 basketball squad. Earl was alternate captain and their older brother Jimmy coached. That team won Greenbrier’s third consecutive Sixth District title.
Where the baseball search leads
The Nashville Old Timers Baseball Association identifies the Larry Gilbert League among the amateur leagues that played at Shelby Park in the mid-twentieth century, and describes its collection of old baseball photographs and memorabilia. That offers a useful archive lead for league history. A Joe-specific roster or scorebook is still needed to place his games.
The next targets are dated Nashville Sporting Goods and Coca-Cola box scores, followed by reports identifying the opponents in his two no-hitters.
