A guard on the train to Knoxville
The Village Green names Clint Charles as a guard among the players who traveled to the 1930 state tournament. Greenbrier’s first state-tournament team now has a full chapter linking the Hall’s recollections to TSSAA’s tournament record.
The college record supplies a name and a year
The Hall says Clint played four years of football and one year of basketball at Middle Tennessee. Its reproduction of a 1934 college-yearbook description uses the name Clinton Charles.
Middle Tennessee Athletics’ letterwinner register lists Clinton Charles for 1933. That is a documented letter year; it does not by itself establish or disprove the Hall’s four playing years. A complete college roster sequence remains to be checked.
The Hall tentatively places his later teaching and coaching work in the Atlanta area. That location remains tentative here, too.

A clipping, scorebook, photograph or firsthand memory can help fill in the playing years and the life that followed.
