Three straight close-to-late region losses sent Greenbrier into the postseason at 5–5, but the Bobcats answered with a 13–10 first-round win over McMinn Central.

WHY THE ROAD WIN MATTERED
Greenbrier knocked out a district champion.
McMinn Central entered the first round 9–1 after an 8–0 Region 3 schedule. The Chargers had won the Class 3A District 3 championship under second-year head coach Brandon Derrick, scoring 297 points before Greenbrier held them to 10.
The 13–10 road result sent the Bobcats into a second-round rematch at White House.
