About these numbers

Source: Kevin Criswell’s Greenbrier Football Points For and Against, 1927–2026, pages 1–6. TSSAA source data was pulled October 28, 2026. This tool uses the 1947–2025 season totals.

Each average uses total points divided by total games, including postseason games. Scoring margin is points scored minus points allowed, divided by games. Shutout rate is shutouts divided by games. Rankings use unrounded values; equal values share a rank. Points scored and allowed include defensive and special-teams scores.

2005: 116 points allowed in 12 games (9.67 per game), confirmed by Jim Sorrells. The Class of 2006’s 2002–2005 window totals 738 points allowed in 53 games (13.92 per game).

Early schedules vary in length. The source is missing one 1963 loss; affected selections are marked. Pre-1947 results are incomplete, and the source’s 2026 totals predate the finale, so both are excluded. Comparisons are not adjusted for era, rule changes or strength of schedule. Overlapping classes share seasons.
