The turn

Six wins in eight games

After the Page opener, Greenbrier beat York, Waverly, Clarksville Northwest, Macon County, Springfield and DeKalb County before the regular-season finale.

The York and Macon County wins were shutouts; the Waverly and DeKalb County wins crossed forty points.

The runner

Derek Adams in the surviving numbers

Adams ran seven times for 63 yards and made six tackles against York. He later carried 19 times for 183 yards and four touchdowns against Springfield, and the school register gives him 155 yards against DeKalb County.

Two reports print Derrick Adams. The school honors record and retained profile use Derek; the variant remains attached to the source instead of becoming a duplicate person.

November

Winning season, first-round finish

Sequoyah won 14–7 in the first round. The result did not erase the season's larger place: 1999 was Greenbrier's first winning campaign since the 8–3 finish in 1981.
