From 0–10 to the Tobacco Bowl
Greenbrier’s 1985 team finished 5–6, a five-win rebound from the winless 1984 season, and earned a Tobacco Bowl invitation in Hartsville. The school records Haywood winning the bowl 30–6.
The postseason honors give the rebound its people: Aaron Sanders was first-team All-Mid-State, Tommy Hulsey earned honorable mention, and Sanders, Hulsey, John Love and Michael Mantlo were All-District 10-2A. David Nichols was Tobacco Bowl Defensive MVP.
