The 1986 centerpiece
The Greenbrier Athletic Hall of Fame identifies Becky Gibbs Legate as a 1986 graduate who competed in softball, volleyball and basketball. The Hall credits her with three All-District basketball selections, three All-District Tournament selections, the 1986 District MVP award, two All-Region Tournament selections, two All-Mid-State selections and selection to the 1986 Class AA All-State Tournament Team. The Hall also describes her as Greenbrier’s first-team All-State girls basketball selection.
TSSAA independently verifies the team result: Greenbrier beat Obion County 47–36 in the 1986 state quarterfinal before losing 55–54 to eventual champion South Greene in the semifinal.

She played for her father, Hall-of-Fame coach Jake Gibbs. His Hall record places the 1986 Final Four at the high point of a 322–99 varsity tenure that began in 1979.
