How Greenbrier arrived

A six-point season gap

Jo Byrns beat Greenbrier 7–6; Ashland City won 18–13. Those were the only losses in a 7–2 season and their combined margins totaled six points. After Ashland City, Greenbrier beat East Robertson and Watertown to begin the 24-game run.

What remains open

The bowl deserves a contemporary account

The final and location are recoverable, but the game story is not. The site does not assign a date, field name, MVP, attendance figure or scoring sequence. A program, newspaper clipping or participant account could turn this scoreboard line into a fuller bowl history.

Current boundary: Strawberry Bowl champion is supported. Everything beyond the 7–0 final and Portland location remains an open lead.
